The red tide phenomenon affects coastal areas all over the world, including those in Korea, and greatly damages the livelihood of fishermen and fish farmers. However, clay has a wondrous power to prevent such damage. This was reported by Japanese scholars in the mid-1980s and some fishermen have already benefited from it. Clay powder has also been used in farms in various regions since September 1996 and has been shown to contain the damage wrought by the red tide.

Water contamination seriously affects fish farming. Clay treatment has the ability to purify and serve as an antidote to water pollutants and chemical toxins. Moreover, diseased fishes like carp can also be cured with clay, as it not only removes poison but also detoxifies, sterilizes and serves as an antidote to hazards to fishes, animals and plants.

In the movie Bear, there is a scene where the bear submerges its injury in muddy water to treat it. Clay is used as an excellent agent to cure injuries of animals. Dogs roll over in mud and chickens peck the earth are some of the kinds of nature¡¯s emergency treatments. In the past, clay treatment was also used on diseases of cows and to alleviate the pain of horses suffering from parasitic insects.
